Day 10: Shikhandi and the Bed of Arrows

For nine days Bhishma has been the reason the Kaurava army still has a shape. Krishna has already raised the chakra and put it down. The Pandavas know the rule Bhishma announced: he will not fight Shikhandi.

On the tenth morning Shikhandi rides in front of Arjuna. Bhishma lowers the bow. Arjuna does not. The arrows make a bed. Bhishma will not die until Uttarayana. The first command ends without the commander leaving the field — only leaving the fight.
